Hi, I’m Sara
I’m a multidisciplinary designer who helps people and organizations tell meaningful stories through brand, motion, and illustration.
I bring a deep storytelling background to my design work. Before design, I trained as an actor and theater artist at École Jacques Lecoq in Paris, where I learned to collaborate, create work from observation, and shape ideas with intention and timing. I spent 20 years performing and making theater in the Twin Cities and remain a proud AEA member. That foundation still guides how I work today: listening closely, finding the heart of a story or brand, and building something expressive and clear.
In 2019, I earned my design degree from MCAD and began translating those instincts into visual systems and motion. Since then, I’ve focused on creating work that feels thoughtful, flexible, and alive.
For nearly four years, I’ve collaborated with the team at Lemonada Media, creating branding and animation for podcasts under the art direction of Sahar Baharloo. My work there includes shows like Wiser Than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Mind Your Own with Lupita Nyong’o, Confessions of a Female Founder with Meghan, The Pink House with Sam Smith, Choice Words with Samantha Bee, and Fail Better with David Duchovny.
I also love working directly with clients and have partnered with organizations and creatives including The Woke Coach, The Wound Company, Urban Design Perspectives, The Talk Toolbox, Minnesota Private Colleges, Annie & the Bang Bang, Turn Turn Turn, and others.
Originally from Upstate New York, I’ve been happily rooted in Minneapolis for over 20 years with my partner, three cats, and an ever-growing jungle of houseplants.
If you’re looking for a collaborative designer who brings curiosity, clarity, and care to every project, I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
